Select an effect to expand the row again and then select an ingredient to create a basic potion. Select an ingredient and the table will re-filter to show all the effects for that ingredient. Select the effect you would like to make and row will expand to show all ingredients with that effect. Use the effect tab to view a list of ingredients by the desired effect.Press the load recipe button to view your recipe book and load one of your recipes. Press the save recipe button to go to the save screen and give your recipe a name. Select any of the previously selected ingredients to remove the last added ingredient from the selected list. Select a third ingredient and the result of your finished potion is displayed in the results field. The list is filtered again to show only ingredients which will add a new effect to the potion. Select a second ingredient with the effect you want and the resulting potion is displayed in the results field. Adding a third ingredient is the easiest way to start discovering the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th properties of ingredients. In order to make a potion, you must choose 2 ingredients and then you can opt to add in a third. Selecting one of these will open the list of ingredients that you know will create the effect. When you interact with an alchemy table, there will be a list of possible Potions that you can create, based on the ingredients in your inventory. Once you have a stockpile of known uses for ingredients, head over to an Alchemy table to start mixing up your own potions. Doing so will reveal the first property of that ingredient. In order to discover an ingredient's effect, you must first consume it by selecting it from your inventory menu. With potions, Alchemy is a little different from how it worked in Oblivion.
